Barça 4-2 Eibar: A comeback which only serves as consolation

Eibar took a 2-0 lead at Camp Nou but Barça came back to win

But it wasn't enough to win the title as Real Madrid won at Malaga

Barcelona came from two goals down to beat Eibar on Sunday but it wasn’t enough to win the league as Real Madrid beat Malaga.

Takashi Inui scored a goal in each half as the Basque side took a surprise lead at Camp Nou, but Barca responded to claim three points from Luis Enrique’s final league game in charge at Camp Nou.

An own goal David Junca set the comeback on its way, the Eibar defender turning into his own net after Neymar had hit the post.

Lionel Messi then missed a penalty after Jordi Alba had won a fortuitous penalty before Luis Suarez levelled the scores at 2-2, poking home from a corner at the far post.

Eibar were then reduced to 10 men when Ander Capa brought down Neymar inside the area, with Messi scoring from the spot this time to move Barca into the lead for the first time.

And the Argentine had the final say, scoring a stunning solo goal in stoppage time to complete a 4-2 win for Barca.

With news from Malaga, though, it means Luis Enrique goes out without the title which he won in each of his first two seasons in charge of Barcelona.

Instead the title goes to Madrid for the first time since 2012, who won 2-0 thanks to goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.
