Bad vibes between Luis Enrique and Lionel Messi cause waves at Barca

Problems between Luis Enrique and Lionel Messi have been a reality for weeks and have come to light now that things are going wrong again. The truth is that this situation could have been envisaged earlier in the season.

The coach is a character and likes to control everything, using a lot of discipline. Meanwhille, Messi has enjoyed certain privileges in recent seasons, thanks to his status as Barcelona's best star and the club's greatest ever player.

This mess was predictable. Enrique is not a fan of holding individual talks with his players - he didn't do it with Barca B either - and the Argentine isn't that keen on them either.

Messi wants to play in every game, and even had problems with Guardiola when the legendary Barca boss put him on the bench. The same happened under Tito Vilanova and Tata Martino. So far, Enrqiue has just substituted Messi on one occasion.

The mutual relationship has deteriorated in recent times, with Luis Enrique wanting the players back on December 30. Messi told Enrique he had return tickets for January 2 and the Spaniard modified his plans to suit that.

So with Leo and Neymar rejoining the group just two days before visiting Anoeta, there was a significant exchange of words between Enrique and Messi.

Radio station COPE said after the game that Messi criticised Enrique after the game for which the Argentine was benched, saying that the star thought Enrique believed he was "lord and master" of the dressing room

Then there was the incident where Messi missed the open training session on Monday with a "gastric problem", which Messi later apologised for on Facebook.

There is clearly a strong movement by Messi here and if these problems aren't fixed soon, it could be much more than that.
