Atletico Madrid offer Luciano Vietto as part of Gameiro deal

Atletico Madrid have countered Barcelona's offer for Kevin Gameiro with a deal that includes fellow striker Luciano Vietto in exchange for the Frenchman.

At present, Sevilla are evaluating both offers from the clubs in question, with Los Rojiblancos' tabling a bid in excess of 20 million euros plus Vietto. Los Nervionenses were prepared to finalise a deal with Atletico on Sunday afternoon for Gameiro before Barça came back and agreed a deal in principle with the Andalusian club.

Atletico's proposal is tempting, given the Champions League runners-up are prepared to offer both money and Vietto  - who's also a target of the Blaugrana - in exchange for the 29-year-old striker, and a decision is expected in the near future.

Barça's first choice has always been to sign Gameiro ahead of Vietto, as he is the player who Luis Enrique has pushed for most. If Atletico get their way, however, the Catalan club could be left empty-handed once more and lose out on two of their main transfer targets.
