Atletico Madrid deny Barça agreement for Luciano Vietto

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has continued the uncertainty surrounding Luciano Vietto, whose name has been linked with Barcelona as a possible acquisition ahead of the 2016/17 season.

The Argentinian is, along with Kevin Gameiro, one of the main transfer targets this summer as Luis Enrique looks to bolster his attacking options.

"There's much to know about what [Vietto] wants and what he'll do," Cerezo said, "We want him to stay [at Atletico] but you also have to see how things develop.

"Vietto is an Atletico player and we haven't decided anything or have had any offer from Barça, therefore it's not logical to say he will go to Barça because we haven't had any contact from them."

In this regard, Cerezo also denied the alternative proposal on the table that would see Vietto go on loan to Sevilla with an option to buy the player as part of a deal for Gameiro to move the other way.

"Vietto won't go to Sevilla on loan," the 68-year-old concluded, "We want him to stay, he's a fantastic player with great potential."
