Ariedo Braida claims Mascherano won't join Juventus

Ariedo Braida, Barça's technical commissioner, is adamant that Javier Mascherano will not leave the Camp Nou this summer.

Speaking to RAI Sport - in which he talked about other topics - Braida was clear that the Argentinian won't be following his former team-mate Dani Alves to Turin.

"Javier Mascherano will not play for Juventus next season, that I can assure you," he said.

The Italian has thus ended weeks of speculation about Mascherano's future, who recently spoke to Robert Fernandez - Barça's sporting director - while partaking in the Copa America.

The former Liverpool defender's agent, Pinhas Zahavi, will travel to Catalonia in the coming days to finalise the contract renewal.
