Argentina confirm tests on toe pain reveal there is NO Lionel Messi injury

Lionel Messi will continue with Argentina this week in Washington after a scan on a toe injury threw up no concerns.

Good news for Barcelona.

Alarm bells had been set off on Tuesday morning when Barça's No.10 left his teammates to undergo medical tests due to a pain in his toe

The worry was that he would be out for a short period of time going into the most important part of the season.

However, the Argentina Football Federation (AFA) released the following statement, confirming there was no serious injury:

"The Argentine national team can inform that this morning Leo Messi, in a private clinic in Washington, underwent a series of medical tests because of a pain in his toe which he suffered in Barcelona's game against Real Madrid.

"Said tests have not revealed any injury."

Messi, who has been well received in the United States this week, is expected to play against El Salvador on Saturday in Washington and against Ecuador in Ney Jersey next Tuesday.
