Arda Turan left out of Turkey's squad despite Barcelona form
Arda Turan has been left out of the Turkey squad for their next two games. The Barcelona star was a fixture in his international team but Faith Terim does not have a good relationship with him.
Turan will stay in Barcelona next week, while most of the squad will be heading off to play for their countries. He was heavily criticised during the Euros for bad performances, and this has seen him miss out on the friendly with Russia and the World Cup qualifier against Croatia.
The new captain will be Fenerbahce's Mehmet Topal, taking over from the absent Turan. Curiouly, the coach's decision to leave him out has coincided with Arda's best moment at Barcelona since he arrived.
