Andriy Yarmolenko waits for Barcelona to decide his future

Andriy Yarmolenko was offered to Barcelona in the last few days of the summer transfer window. It was a proposal that left the club's technical staff and the Barcelona environment a little surprised, for their lack of knowledge about Ukrainian football. In fact, many fans only saw the winger for the first time in the game against Spain and were left open-mouthed. Luis Enrique also did not know the player well enough and this stopped the operation going through, despite the favourable economic terms offered. The name remains on the table, but Chelsea have joined the party. Their coach, José Mourinho, went to watch the star and has also spoken to his agent. They will make an offer, but they know that the player dreams of playing in La Liga and for Barcelona. If they don't go for him in January, he will likely join the Premier League side.

The history of Yarmolenko is interesting. He could have signed in the last few days of August for Everton or Tottenham, but decided not to, convinced that in January Barcelona would strike for him. So far the club has not made a move, apart from finding out the numbers of the operation, which would be around €20million.

Mourinho wants to bring the explosive Ukranian to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea want to add to their options on the flanks and have followed him for some time. Mourinho will face Yarmolenko in the Champions League next week, and has spoken to Mikhail Gulordava, his agent, to know his intentions first-hand.

Yarmolenko is a player liked in the Premier League for his power and versatility. He can play in all attacking positions and also in midfield. Against Spain he worked hard defensively on his wing. Everton decided to sign him after playing Dyamo Kiev. Their coach Roberto Martinez was impressed by the star, who struck against them. But Yarmolenko rejected the proposition, despite the money on offer - his objective is clear.

Yarmolenko has a valuation of just over 25 million euros, but the club, at the express wish of the player, would let him leave for 20 million euros to pay in installments. The player will keep waiting in the coming weeks, although the list of suitors he has is impressive. A few days ago there was an offer from Borussia Dortmund, which was ruled out by Dynamo Kiev and the player himself. At the moment, he is going to stay calm because there is still many weeks before the transfer window opens. What is clear is that the player will leave Dynamo Kiev.

At Barcelona there is now no doubt of his impressive quality and versatility, but there is fear about the acclimatization process Yarmolenko would face to thrive in Spanish football. At the moment, the club is hiding behind the fact that they can not invest money in January, but if they sell a player, the Ukrainian would be able to come. At 25 he is one of the pearls of the market for the future, and even if he didn't work, he could be sold on without a loss.
