Andres Iniesta's recovery from knee injury on track as he begins to run again

The midfielder hopes to be able to play again before the end of the calendar year

Andres Iniesta has completed the second week of his recovery from a knee injury which he picked up in the game against Valencia.

The club said he will be out of action for six to eight weeks, but the midfielder’s recovery is going well. He’s already begun to run on an antigravity machine, which allows him to exercise without putting much weight on the injured knee.

Last week he ditched the brace which he had been wearing on his knee to restrict any excessive movement in the early stages of the recovery. Now, thanks to new technology, he is able to run earlier than expected. The Alter G machine has also been used by Pau Gasol, Rafa Nadal and James Rodriguez.

In the best case scenario, Iniesta will be ready in time for the Clasio on Dec. 3 against Real Madrid, although the priority is that he recovers completely before returning to action.
