Andrés Iniesta sprinting towards the Clasico along recovery trail

Iniesta is working at full capacity and his evolution has been excellent, with Barcelona encouraged by his progress before the Clasico

While Barcelona’s squad enjoyed Thursday morning after their 2-0 win over Celtic the night before, work began at the Esportiva Joan Gamper for some.

Samuel Umtiti, Jeremy Mathieu and captain Andres Iniesta trained as they try to get over their injuries ahead of the Clasico on December 3 against Real Madrid.

Iniesta is working at full capacity and his evolution has been excellent. From when he got injured against Valencia on October 22, following a tough tackle by Enzo Perez, his aim has been to get back in time for that game.

The captain’s absence has been noted in Barcelona’s sometimes uninspired performances, but Leo Messi’s individual talent helped them take a step forward in Glasgow. But Iniesta is key for his vision of the game and the ease with which he combines with the various forwards.

Lucho has been working to find solutions but Arda Turan, Denis Suarez, Andre Gomes and Rafinha haven’t been able to make his position their own. And soon Don Andres will be back.

El capitán del Barça envió en la mañana del jueves un mensaje de felicitación a sus compañeros por el triunfo ante el Celtic en Glasgow:
