Andres Iniesta explains when he will leave FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona have reinforced their central midfield in the transfer market. The arrival of players like European champions Andre Gomes, and the promising Denis Suarez, mean there is an over-booking in midfield.

Captain Andres Iniesta is conscious of the increased competition, more strength on an individual level and that this will have an effect on the collective level of the team. He said on Friday, in a press conference, that he values this competition - and if he was afraid of the rivalry, it would be time to start packing his bags.

The player recognised that in the moment he feels it is too much for him he would leave. "This team should always have the best players there and, to compete with them, if this makes me afraid or uncertain, I wouldn't be here."

Barcelona fans can be calm. "I have had I-don't-know-how-many seasons at Barcelona and I've always had the sensation of the best being here." On a personal level his plan is "to be well, and train well to perform at the maximum level."
