Andre Gomes reveals Cristiano Ronaldo's message to him

Andre Gomes and Cristiano Ronaldo, on top of being team-mates with Portugal, have a good relationship. The central-midfielder has not hidden that he is friends with the Real Madrid star and in an interview with TV3 explained what Ronaldo said to him after joining Barcelona. 

"I spoke with him and he congratulated me, but I'm still a rival of his - like I was at Valencia, and on the pitch there is no friendship. In the national team I can enjoy being with him - but now I want to enjoy being with Messi." 

Gomes is one of the only players who will be able to say they shared a dressing room with Messi and with Cristiano. One for his club and another for his country. And he is loving being able to learn form both. 

He also pointed out that Andres Iniesta was another player to learn from. "Iniesta is a reference for me in all senses. Now I want to enjoy being with him every day."
