Andre Gomes: I'm a mix of Andres Iniesta and Ivan Rakitic

Gomes says he is trying to improve regardless of any praise or criticism he receives

Andre Gomes spoke about his development at FC Barcelona during a press conference on Monday afternoon.

"I am at a great club, there are changes to get used to but I’m getting accustomed to things," explained the Portuguese midfielder.

"I’m still young, I’m growing day by day, but things so much easier thanks to help of teammates and staff. I feel good, I feel comfortable."

Gomes says he is trying to improve regardless of any praise or criticism he receives.

"I understand all opinions, to be honest I just try to improve every day, prepare for every game to compensate for the confidence people have shown in me," he added.

"It is not about setting standards too high, but trying to do things well every day. I hope at the end of the season I have made an important contribution to team winning trophies.

"I started as an interior, but then I’ve also played as a pivot. There’s no problem playing anywhere. You have to adapt. It’s easy to become familiar with different positions because well explained to you. I’m just happy to play, wherever that is, it’s up to the manager."

"I prefer to have my own style... I think I’m a mix of the two [Iniesta and Rakitic]. No one is the same as either of them. They’re two great players.

"I need to keep growing, I have a lot of years ahead of me. They’re the players I look up to inside the team but most important thing is to be myself and that my teammates help me to grow."
