Alves avoids talk about his exit as he meets up with Brazil squad
Dani Alves didn’t want to confirm he has signed for Juventus when he arrived in Los Angeles, where he has met up with the Brazil squad to prepare for the Copa America.
As soon as he arrived at the hotel, he was approached by a fan who clearly and directly asked him, “Are you leaving Barça?” The response from Alves, a deathly silence, was perhaps telling, given he is usually the first to give his reaction to rumours and reports.
Alves was signing autographs, shirts and taking various selfies when the fans asked him, but he avoided talking about his future.
Since the news emerged that Alves will leave Barça, he has not made any comments. He has appeared on social media, but only to upload a photo with Chelsea player Willian, which doesn’t give any clue as to what his future holds.
The 33-year-old will use a clause in his contract which allows him to leave for free. Barça, meanwhile, will make Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin their top target to replace him.
