Aleña: Shit! I've scored my first goal for Barcelona's first team
The midfielder spoke to the press after a dream debut in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday
Carles Aleña was the star of Barcelona's draw against Hercules. It was the perfect night: his debut with the first team and his first goal, too, the only one scored by Barça on the night.
"It was a dream debut. I've waited a long time for this day. It's been one of the happiest days of my life, it's just a shame about the result. We will try to get the win in the second leg and qualify for the next round," said a euphoric Aleña.
What did he think after scoring? "Shit, I've just scored for the first team," he said laughing. And he added: "I think it will sink in in a few days. I have to improve a lot, I don't think I played well. I have to correct my mistakes and keep learning from the best."
On what Luis Enrique said to him, he explained: "He told me to be calm and to do what I know, that I did not have to prove anything to anyone. I'm grateful for the confidence he's shown in me. Everyone's welcomed me."
