Aleix Vidal will not play in the Catalan Super Cup
Apparently an injury has ruled out the right-back who seemed set to finally be able to play a game for the club
Aleix Vidal was not allowed time off as Luis Enrique planned to include him in the squad for the Catalan Super Cup but Barcelona’s out of favour right-back will not compete against Espanyol on Tuesday night. This time because of injury.
According to a medical statement from the club, Vidal has “problems with the adductor muscle in his right leg from the training session on Monday” and is out for the game.
Aleix Vidal joins an injury list sporting Pique, Albam Cillessen and Iniesta, with Rafinha and Arda Turan coming back from minor problems too.
Aleix was one of the few players who also did not attend the dinner Luis Suarez organised to celebrate his golden shoe award last week.
