Alcacer's resistance delaying potential Barcelona exit

Alcacer's resistance delaying potential Barcelona exit

The striker is in no rush to make a decision on his future

Paco Alcacer is one of the Barcelona players drawing the most interest. He hasn't played a lot at Camp Nou but his reputation remains undamaged since his arrival from Valencia.

Barça are prepared to sell him and see him as one of the players they could bring the most money in for, but the striker's not sure he wants to leave this summer. He will only do so for a good offer -- in financial and sporting terms.

AVAILABLE

In the first analysis of the post-season, the idea of putting Alcacer on the transfer market was communicated to his people. At the time, Barça blindly believed that they would sign Antoine Griezmann and that the Spain international wouldn't get many minutes next season.

The Griezmann 'no' affected that stance, but the club are still thinking of letting him leave to give more minutes to Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele in attack. The idea is to sign another forward in the case that Alcacer ends up leaving.

The former Valencia man had big offers to go to the Premier League in January. Everton pushed for him and Barça felt they could get back the 30 million they spent on him. But Alcacer preferred to wait until the end of the season to weight up his options.

PRE-SEASON

It's likely that the forward does pre-season with Barça and his future is resolved in July or August. In the coming days, there will be contract with his representatives to study the situation and the idea is to look into a transfer. It remains to be seen if an offer will arrive which satisfied everyone, given Barça want a transfer, not a loan.

Barça are much more optimistic about Aleix Vidal. If everything goes as planned, he could leave before pre-season begins on July 11. There are offers close to what the Catalan club are asking for and everyone is keen for a deal to be done.

Vidal would prefer to stay in Spain, but he could end up moving to Italy. Barça want at least eight million for him.
