Alcacer: I'm really happy to end the season with Copa del Rey goal
A season on the sidelines ended in a positive manner for the striker
He also poured praise on Leo Messi, who set up his goal vs. Alaves
Paco Alcacer experienced his best night in a Barcelona shirt as he scored in the Copa del Rey final win over Alaves on Saturday.
The former Valencia striker filled in for the suspended Luis Suarez and scored the third goal in the 3-1 win.
“In the end, the hard work was reflected on the pitch,” Alcacer said after the game.
“Helping the team with a goal is important. I am very happy to end the season like this. We have to keep working.
“I’ve gone from down to up during the season. I always try to think in the present and on the next game and, in the end, it has its rewards. You can never give up, you must always give your all.”
Alcacer’s goal was set up by a brilliant move from Lionel Messi and he added: “There is no better player that Leo Messi.
“I am very proud to be able to live and learn beside him. It’s amazing the ease with which he plays. He makes football so easy. There is no doubt that he is the best player in the world.”
Finally, on his future, he said: “I only live in the present and I’m happy here. It’s not up to me to decide what happens next season, it’s the directors and the coaches.”
