Alaves ask officially for the Copa del Rey final to be held in Bilbao
They claim that the location is good for their fans and say that the arrival of around 50,000 fans will be important for the Euskadi area
Deportivo Alaves have asked for the Copa del Rey final to take place at the San Mames on May 27. However three days later there will be a concert by Guns N'Roses there, which makes things difficult.
Alaves sent an official statement out saying that they want to "communicate officially their decision to ask for the San Mames, governed by the Basque government and Athletic Club".
They claim that the location is good for their fans and say that the arrival of around 50,000 fans will be important for the Euskadi area, which would benefit by about 10m euros.
