Agusti Benedito: Marco Verratti is our first option if we win Barça elections

Agusti Benedito, one of the candidates to become the new FC Barcelona president, has announced that PSG midfielder Marco Verratti is his main transfer target if he wins the elections later this month. 

"Marco Verratti is our first option," Benedito declared, before also revealing that he has been involved in advanced talks with the players agent, Donato Di Campli, despite the fact he admitted "PSG are not ready to sell." 

Benedito insisted that "we have a lot of interest in the player and that is what we have made sure his agent knows." 

The pre-candidate for the Barcelona presidency assured that if he wins the July 18 elections, he could bring the player from PSG to FC Barcelona. "We know PSG don't want to sell, but we are sure if we win the elections we can convince them to make the transfer." 

Verratti has become one of the key figures in this election campaign, with Agusti Benedito not the first man to speak with his agent. Toni Freixa has also been in touch with Donato di Campli.
