Agreement in place for Barcelona to sign Paul Pogba for 2016-17

The meeting between Barcelona's Ariedo Braida and Albert Soler and Juventus duo Beppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici in Milan has seen the two clubs reach an agreement over the transfer of Paul Pogba

Barça have beaten the likes of Manchester City and PSG to the French midfielder, with them coming to an agreement with the Italian club to sign the player ahead of the 2016-17 season

Albert Soler, the director of sports at FC Barcelona, and Ariedo Braida, the director of international sport, have agreed the terms with Marotta and Paratici, which have not yet been disclosed, which will see Pogba become a Barcelona player next summer.

Barça have asked, due to FIFA's transfer ban, that the deal not be closed until 2016, an offer which Juventus have happily accepted, as it means they get to keep the player who helped them win the double for another season.

With this pact, everything is in place for the new president to close the deal later this month and to confirm that Paul Pogba will be a Barcelona player for the 2016-17 campaign.

It will be the first thing the new president will have to do when he is elected on July 18.
