Adama Traore: "My mirrors were Ronaldo and Ronaldinho, now it's Messi"

Adama Traore: "My mirrors were Ronaldo and Ronaldinho, now it's Messi"

There is a lot of hype around young phemomenon Adama Traore. Young athletes often generate excessive speculation.

But in the Barca youth ranks, there is no player more exciting than this young man.

"My greatest strength is my speed and power. This is what stands out more, but I will get better.

"Right now, speed and power are my best weapons but I would like to add other things in the future."

That's what he said in the mixed zone after scoring his first Barcelona goal against Huesca.

"It was a great joy. The whole B team would love to score a goal in the Camp Nou and share a dressing room with these players."

INITIAL DOUBTS

Over the years, people worried that unless Adama's technical skills matched his physical ones, he would not be able to keep making the difference.

But now, youth team coach Eusebio has said: "He is ready for the first team, he has the right mentality."

He made his debut for Barcelona under Tata Martino, before playing in the Champions League.

Adama may find life with Luis Enrique tough, because the coach asks for a greater commitment to defence.

Former youth team captain, Ile, said: "He's very humble but with character and especially a hard working guy. Nothing good happens to him by chance. He deserves everything."

Adama knows he must learn from the players that are in the first team squad now.

"My mirrors were Ronaldinho and Ronaldo, and now it's Messi," he explained at an Adidas event on Wednesday.
