Abelardo explains why Sporting Gijon signed Douglas on loan

Sporting Gijon coach Abelardo was very happy with the arrival of Douglas Pereira from Barcelona, whom he called a versatile footballer who can play on both flanks, join the attack, help the team and "arrived free". 

Douglas is the 12th player the Asturian team have signed this season. Abelardo said: "If all the signings go well, it will be brilliant."

Of Douglas he added: "He comes from Barcelona and before that Sao Paulo, two great teams. He's very complete, and versatile." He said he had spoken to Luis Enrique about Douglas too.
