Abel Ruiz, 17, is one of those players that has to be looked after on his way to the top. He has all the qualities (not just in terms of football, but also mentally) to be a success. Barcelona are aware of his potential and, despite his youth, there's a lot of hope pinned on him. 

There's no rush, but there's his growth is also not slow. Each time Gerard Lopez has counted on him for Barça B, he has given him reasons to do so again in the future. He did so last season, on the few occasions he played because his place was with Juvenil A (U-19s). And he's not stopped doing so in the second division. He played his first 18 minutes against Tenerife and started, for the first time, against Granada on Friday, scoring in the 2-2 draw. 

When the game ended, there was the same calmness as always. "I am really happy to get my first start in the second division. Now, to keep on growing," he told Gol. Growing. A verb that has always accompanied him because he's never stopped doing it. Each season he has evolved, becoming the best player in his team year after year, thanks to humility with which he does everything, thanks in part to the education his family have given him. "I dedicate the goal to them," he added. "They've come to Granada to watch. It's for them." He looks good.
