Barcelona's Robert has been impressed with the midfielder this season

Pochettino has dubbed him 'Little Iniesta' according to the English press

FC Barcelona were present at Wembley on Wednesday when Tottenham beat Real Madrid in the Champions League. According to the Evening Standard, the Catalan club's sporting director Robert Fernandez was in the stands in London to see Mauricio Pochettino's side win 3-1.

The midfielder Harry Winks was the reason for his visit. According to the English newspaper, the initial reason was to watch Christian Eriksen, who has been on the club's agenda for a while.

But the performances produced by Winks at the Santiago Bernabeu and then at Wembley have made Robert sit up and take notice of the 21-year-old midfielder. The English player can play in the pivot position or as an interior.

Winks, who came through the academy at Spurs, has a contract until 2022 with the London club and doesn't seem ready to leave. In fact, in the last year alone he's seen his contract improved three times.

However, his quality and his age make him a player to Barça's taste and they will continue to follow him in the coming months.

Little Iniesta

Sources close to the Tottenham dressing room say that Pochettino refers to Winks at a "little Iniesta". Despite his age, he's already represented England and is in the squad for the upcoming friendlies against Brazil and Germany.
